Villa Miriam in San Rafael, province of Barahona, is a private residence with swimming pools and natural waterfalls that are fed by water from the San Rafael river. Excellent place, to enjoy with family, friends. It's a safe and clean place worth the trip.
Villa Miriam was created in the 1970s by a Lebanese businessman who lived in Barahona, it was his second home. The villa can be rented for private events like weddings, birthdays, baptisms and for corporate events. It is also a magical place where thousands of Dominicans and tourists come to visit and take a bath in the cool waters of the swimming pools.
Admission is 300 pesos for adults and children over 12 and 200 pesos for children 5 to 12, free for others. Visitors are allowed to bring food and drink as there is no food or beverage service inside. Villa Miriam is open everyday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Many tour agencies offer this activity but it is quite possible to get there on your own, the place is easy to find.
